Trei Real Estate Plans to Relocate from Mülheim to Düsseldorf

Trei Real Estate GmbH (Trei), a property developer and property asset holder for residential and retail real estate, will relocate from Mülheim an der Ruhr to Düsseldorf. To this end, the real estate company signed a lease agreement for around 2,400 square metres of office accommodation in Düsseldorf, state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia. The next head office of Trei will be close to Düsseldorf Airport. The premises are located in the “Airport Office Six” office property that is still under construction at this time.

Pepijn Morshuis, CEO of Trei Real Estate, commented: “The new location in Düsseldorf is highly attractive for Trei.” The ongoing internationalization of our business means that our employees need to travel a lot. So, it is a great advantage to have the airport right next door. The location of Düsseldorf is also better than Mülheim for recruiting purposes.”

Trei has so far been based on the premises of the Tengelmann group of companies in Mülheim-Speldorf. Tengelmann had decided in January 2019 to abandon this site. The decision also prompted the group’s real estate arm Trei to hunt for new quarters.

The lease agreement was brokered by the Cushman & Wakefield real estate consultancy firm, which advised the company on the property selection and the relocation of the principal place of business. In addition, Trei was advised by Pro m2 GmbH, a property consultancy and project manager. The company developed the new office concept for Trei, which includes the planning effort for the new office premises, among other things.

The property in Düsseldorf is expected to be completed by October 2019. It will have a lettable office area of around 8,400 square metres, spread across seven floors. At the moment, Trei has more than 70 employees on its payroll in Germany.
